Healthy For Men are reviewing fitness adventure spots across the UK, and this month, our favourite was Carmarthen in Wales
The UK is filled with legendary cycling spots, but none more scenic than the dynamic routes of Carmarthenshire, South Wales. So much so that the Tour of Britain stage one was held from Pembrey in Carmarthenshire through to Newport. While there are many challenging routes to take, thigh-testing hills and valleys fit for avid speed-junkies, a placid tour of iconic castles and countryside is just as worthwhile. You can stay at the Cawdoor Inn, Llandeilo, for £95 a night, and replenish glycogen levels at the Angel Bistro just around the corner.
Where to stay: Rooms at The Cawdor are available from £95 based on two sharing on a B&B basis. Book via www.thecawdor.com or call 01558 823500. More information on Carmarthenshire’s new cycle routes (including where best to hire bikes and where to stop off en-route) are available at www.discovercarmarthenshire.com.
